Tusker FC CEO Sam Nzau has expressed confidence that the club’s recent international signings will help revive the team’s fortunes, as the Brewers aim to finish the 2025-26 FKF Premier League season on a high.

The club has confirmed the arrival of three new players on short-term deals until the end of the season.

Goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzila, left-back Servel Akouala, and striker Selasie Bless Akai were unveiled as new players on Tuesday.

Both Ndzila and Akouala are from Congo Brazzaville, while Akai is from Ghana.

Other new mid-season signings at the club are Stephen Etyang, formerly with KCB, and Ibrahim Joshua, who makes a comeback to the club.

“We are delighted to add these three players of international experience to the team. We are confident their presence can ignite improved performances. We have had a difficult season and hopefully, we can turn things around in the second leg. We needed to bring in experience to add steel to the squad,” Nzau said.

Tusker have struggled this season, losing eight of their 20 league matches and currently sitting ninth on the FKF Premier League table with 28 points, 15 behind leaders Gor Mahia.

Following the departure of coach Charles Okere, Frenchman Julien Mette has taken over, reuniting with the three players who have previously worked with him.

Ndzila joins from the Rwandese side Rayon Sports and has a wealth of experience in the East African region, including stints with APR and participation in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup against Gor Mahia.

He has been named Rwandese Premier League goalkeeper of the year twice and was CECAFA Kagame Cup goalkeeper of the year in 2024.

“I have good memories of this place, and I want to create more. It is an honour to join Tusker, and I am looking forward to helping the team,” said Ndzila.

Akouala, 22, comes from Algerian club US Biskra and is making his first foray into East African football.

“I am excited to be here, and I look forward to the challenge ahead. It is a new country with new challenges, but I look forward to enjoying the journey,” he said.

Meanwhile, Akai arrives from Beninese club Dadje FC, where he was last season’s top scorer.

He has also played for Hearts of Oak in Ghana. “I am delighted to be at Tusker, and my ambition is to help the team rise from where it is currently. A striker is expected to score goals, and that is my ambition for the team during my time here,” Akai said.

The trio began training with Tusker on Monday and will be assessed by the coaching staff to determine their readiness for the weekend clash against Shabana FC.
