The side traces its roots to Kuta Collection, a sports apparel business specialising in football boots, jerseys, and other sporting equipment.

However, what began as a business venture has gradually evolved into a non-league football team dedicated to creating opportunities for players without clubs.

Kuta Collection made headlines during the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup, where they enjoyed an impressive debut campaign despite fielding a squad largely made up of unattached footballers.

The team defeated Al-Azizia FC 6-5 on penalties after a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time during the Round of 64 before edging FKF Division Two Eastern Zone side KSG Ogopa 1-0 in the Round of 32.

Their fairy-tale run eventually came to an end in the next round following a narrow 1-0 defeat to FKF Premier League outfit Shabana FC.

Nevertheless, their performances earned admiration across the football fraternity and highlighted the potential of players seeking a second chance in the game.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Kuta, who retired from professional football midway through the 2024/25 season, explained that the club's mission extends beyond competitive success.

"We have no plan of changing the team into a professional club because that would leave the same unattached group that we are looking to help with no place to revive their careers," Kuta said.

"The goal was to provide a platform that gives unattached players hope that they can still get back to where they were before at the top level, and for some upcoming players, a stage to showcase what they have."

Since hanging up his boots, Kuta has fully shifted his focus to the business side of football.

He explains that the formation of Kuta Collection FC serves a dual purpose of supporting the community while simultaneously promoting the company's brand.

According to Kuta, the company primarily deals in football boots, sportswear, merchandise, and a wide range of sporting equipment.

"I view it as a better way of killing two birds with one stone — corporate social responsibility for Kuta Collection and a marketing strategy that aligns with sport, considering that we sell sports equipment mainly for football purposes," he added.
