Luis Enrique’s side cruised past Rennes with an emphatic 5–0 victory

The reigning European champions returned to winning ways after last round’s loss to Monaco — and did so with ease. What will especially delight the club’s supporters is the brilliant performance from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who scored twice and delivered his best individual match of the season.

The hosts outplayed their rivals in every department, even though a stronger resistance from Rennes was expected. The visitors offered very little in attack, and Luis Enrique’s side punished every mistake made by Habib Beye’s team. With this defeat, Rennes’ four-match winning streak comes to an end.

The opening goal was a small masterpiece from Kvaratskhelia. He received the ball on the left flank from Lucas Hernandez, cut inside effortlessly, waited for the perfect shooting angle, and then fired a superb strike past Brice Samba. The goal is HERE!

About ten minutes later, the home side doubled their lead through Senny Mayulu, who scored after a fine assist from Joao Neves. The goal is HERE!

Kvaratskhelia then added his second of the match, despite having entered the game with just one league goal this season. The goal is HERE!

Just when it seemed PSG would slow down, the ultra-talented Ibrahim Mbaye produced a stunning shot from the edge of the box — one that not even two goalkeepers could have saved. The goal is HERE!

Gonaalo Ramos sealed the final score in the second minute of stoppage time. The goal is HERE!

It was a true footballing rhapsody from Luis Enrique’s team, who now sit second in the league table, while Rennes drop to sixth place.
