Naibois gained promotion to the FKFPL with win over 3K FC

FKF National Super League (NSL) side Nairobi United have gained the much coveted promotion to the FKF Premier League.

Naibois managed the great feat after a hard fought 2-1 victory over NSL newbies 3K FC in a league match played on Friday 23 May 2025 at the Dandora Stadium.

The Nicholas Muyoti-coached side have now amassed 66 points. Only APS Bomet stand a mathematical chance to surpass them thereby guaranteeing them one of the two automatic promotion slots.

The current NSL season will comprise of a total of 35 matches after the dismissal of Dimba Patriots from the league and relegation of Muhoroni Youth on match fixing allegations.

With Muhoroni having completed the first leg but not yet over the 75% mark, only their first leg results will be counted and have effect on the table.

Third Placed Naivas, who have four games left before the end of the season can therefore reach a maximum of 62 points while Darajani Gogo at 50 points and Kibera Back Stars at 49 can reach a maximum of 65 points and 64 points respectively.

With 55 points and 5 games left, APS Bomet‘s maximum points is 70 and therefore Nairobi United will need a maximum of two wins from their remaining three matches to win the NSL.

In their Friday afternoon encounter against 3K FC, the Embu-based side took the lead in the 11th minute through an own goal but just when the game was headed for the break, Naibois drew parity in the 44th minute.

In the second half, with eyes on completing the promotion task today, Naibois continued their scathing search for a winner and their efforts paid off in the 77th minute through Ouya who completed his brace and entrenched his name in the history books.

The first to send a congratulatory message to the Johnson Sakaja Foundation-sponsored side were their opponents, 3K FC.

“Congratulations, NAIBOIS, on your promotion to the Kenya Premier League! Well deserved,” 3K posted on their Facebook account.
