Although the club had already hinted at parting ways with the Brazilian, Real Madrid’s two biggest stars are trying to secure his stay

Few players have dominated transfer talk this window quite like Real Madrid’s Rodrygo. The Brazilian star has been on the radar of top clubs for months, with Manchester City and Arsenal leading the chase.

This summer might mark the end of Rodrygo’s time at Madrid. Frustrated by his lack of a guaranteed starting spot and a preferred position under Xabi Alonso, he had already voiced his demands before the former player even took charge.

Yet, as TBR Football reports, several teammates are urging the club to keep him. New arrivals Franco Mastantuono and Arda Guler are being prioritized, while Rodrygo seems to have faded slightly into the background. Arsenal, however, are sniffing an opportunity, with recent talks suggesting a permanent transfer or even a loan could be on the table.

Resistance is now mounting inside the Real dressing room. TBR chief reporter Graeme Bailey notes that stars like Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Federico Valverde have lobbied both Alonso and the club hierarchy to retain Rodrygo. Jude Bellingham has also emphasized the winger’s value, pointing to his role in the team’s title wins under Carlo Ancelotti.

Despite the support from his teammates, Rodrygo reportedly remains keen on a move. Arsenal appear increasingly likely, especially with a clear left-wing role opening up there – Bukayo Saka occupies the right wing, leaving room for the Brazilian to shine.
