The four previous league meetings between the two have not produced a winner in a fixture that has always attracted hype and exchange of words and banter on social media prior to and after match days.
Kenya Police FC and Ulinzi Stars FC have locked horns four times in the league since the time the law enforcers were promoted to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League.
The four previous meetings between the two have not produced a winner in a fixture that has always attracted hype, exchange of words, and banter on social media prior to and after match days. Last season, however, Ulinzi managed to beat the law enforcers 2-1 in a Mozzart Bet Cup round of 16 game.
A chance for the duo to break the winless jinx in the league presents itself on Friday when the Police host the Soldiers at their Police Sacco Grounds in one of the three Football Kenya Federation Premier League matches lined up for the day.
Besides the three points, bragging rights will also be on offer for the triumphant team.
The two teams didn't warm up for the clash in the best way possible, as they dropped points last weekend.
Ulinzi lost 1-0 to Bidco United last weekend, while Police, who are struggling despite having some of the best local talents in their team, played Gor Mahia to a barren draw.
A closer look at the Police form book shows a team that is yet to find a rhythm, as they haven't won in the last four matches and have celebrated maximum points twice in the season.
Ulinzi on the other hand, recovered from a poor start and have since been on an upward trajectory until the Bidco loss.
Meanwhile, Kakamega Homeboyz will be seeking their fifth win of the season when they host the 2009 league champions Sofapaka at the Bukhungu Stadium.
Homeboyz beat Muhoroni Youth 2-0 last Sunday to bag their fourth win in the campaign and host Sofapaka knowing that three points will drag their name into the top four bracket.
One thing that has been dragging Abana Abeingo down in the past ten rounds is inconsistencies and lack of cutting edge while playing in front of home fans.
Homeboyz are yet to register back-to-back wins and have a win to show for in the five home matches played so far.
They play Sofapaka, who are coming off a 3-0 drubbing in the hands of the resurgent FC Talanta who have lost a game in the opening ten rounds.
Sofapaka have won twice and will hope to take home maximum points for the third time in the season and get out of the red zone.
The former champions, who were of colour early in the season, appear to have found their footing under coach Ezekiel Akwana who succeeded sacked Burundian Francis Haringingo.
Their two wins have come under Akwana who is serving the outfit for the second spell.
In Nairobi, Talanta will be gunning for their fourth win of the season when they entertain Muhoroni Youth at the Ruaraka Grounds.
Should Talanta skin Muhoroni alive, they will scale up to the fourth slot pending the outcome of the Saturday matches.
Muhoroni who have been struggling in front of the goal, are winless in the last four matches.
The Charles Odera-coached side has scored a paltry four goals in ten matches and shipped in eleven, underlying their struggles in the season.
Should they snatch three points, they will rise two slots up.
