Kakamega Homeboyz forward Christopher Masinza can't wait to score his first goal of the season after failing to hit the back of the net in the league’s first ten rounds.

Masinza has endured a goal drought this season, leaving him a troubled player who wants nothing but to repay the playing time he has been getting by kissing the net.

The forward, who can play on the flanks, attributed the difficult start to recurring injury setbacks that limited his game time in the past rounds.

Masinza has earned two starts thus far against KCB and log leaders Posta Rangers, with the rest of the minutes coming from the second half appearances he has had.

However, he says he is in good shape and looking forward to Round Eleven against 2009 league champions Sofapaka at the Bukhungu Stadium.

The experienced forward, who is an elder brother to the club's wingback Enock Masinza, scored his last goal for the club in their 3-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks in April this year at the Police Pavillion Grounds.

"I am eagerly waiting for my first goal of the season. A goal will be enough for me to get my season going. I struggled with injuries early in the season, but I am feeling much better and ready to play and score goals," he admitted.

With Sofapaka visiting Homeboyz this weekend, Masinza said their training is focused on registering the second win in front of their home fans.

Homeboyz have been struggling at Bukhungu, as the Patrick Odhiambo-coached side has won once at home, with the rest of their three wins coming in away matches.

"It's been a while since we won at home. We have to do something this weekend for the sake of our fans. We shouldn't be letting home advantage slip through our hands either," he said.

Homeboyz, who beat Muhoroni Youth 2-0 on Sunday, will host Sofapaka, who are coming off a 3-0 defeat at the hands of FC Talanta.
