The FKF Premier League newbies are competing in their maiden CAF Confederation Cup after lifting the 2024/25 Mozzart Bet Cup while still in the National Super League (NSL).
Naibois will face Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel (ESS) in their final two-legged preliminary round, the Kenyan side hosting the first leg on Sunday, 19 October, before travelling for the return leg a week later.
Speaking to the press after their 2-0 victory over Kakamega Homeboyz in a rescheduled league match on Saturday, 11 October at Bukhungu Stadium, Muyoti appreciated the importance of the league game that helped in zeroing in on two key preparation aspects.
“That was also a good match (against Homeboyz) to help us in preparing for the Confederation Cup. We have noticed the things that we need to work on. We had a problem of scoring which I think we have sorted, our defense is also okay and now we will be working on possession and how to hit teams on the counterattack and score from it when needed,” stated Muyoti.
In their league clash, Muyoti returned to Bukhungu to outsmart his former side with a masterclass performance in the first half that saw Naibois take a two-goal lead to the break courtesy of a brace from Enock Machaka.
The team resorted to a low block and solid defensive play in the second half, which allowed them to protect their lead until the final whistle.
In ESS, Naibois will face an even tougher opposition with more quality and experience in continental and, who have in their ranks Harambee Stars defender Alphonce Omija.

If Naibois are to upset ESS, they will have to do it without the services of Muyoti in the technical area.
The former Nairobi City Stars tactician lacks a CAF A licence or its equivalent, a requirement for a head coach or assistant in CAF Men’s Interclub competitions.
