The Tanzanian forward is yet to break into the team's starting eleven this season

Tusker forward Ibrahim Joshua has expressed his delight after marking his steady comeback into the team this weekend with two goal involvements in The birewers win over Shabana.

The striker, who is yet to break into Robert Matano’s starting eleven this season, for the first time this season enjoyed a productive cameo in terms of goal contributions, coming off the bench in the second half to force an own goal and an involvement in the team’s third goal.

After receiving a pass from fellow substitute Levin Odhiambo, Joshua’s shot after 56 minutes came off Shabana captain George Onyango for the second goal, and it was from his flick to Christopher Erambo that Shaphan Siwa hit a low shot for the team’s third in what ended up as a 4-0 humbling.

Speaking of his performance, Joshua told the team’s channel that he was thankful to God and his teammates saying: “I knew my time would come. It was all about moments.

“Every good thing comes for those who wait and even when I went through a tough period with injury, I always told myself that a time would come when I would be back enjoying myself on the football field.”

Asked what his impressive cameo would do to him, he said: “It will motivate me to do well and also help the team because we don’t think of ourselves just as individuals.

“Whether its my goal or Kapaito’s or anyone else’s, they all help the team move forward and that’s what we are trying to achieve.”

Tusker is currently fourth on the log and return back to action on Sunday 18 February against KCB at Kenyatta Stadium.
