Guardiola urges his players to take one step at a time
There are still no talks about the Champions League final in the Manchester City dressing room. That is what Pep Guardiola states but such discipline and focus are hard to believe - given that this is the first Champions League final for the Etihad club.
Spanish manager insists the newly-crowned Premier League champions cannot take the remaining league games for granted.
Citizens will lift the league trophy in front of their supporters at the Etihad Stadium after Sunday's match against Everton. Before that final fixture, they face Brighton on Tuesday.
Rotation within the squad will continue and Guardiola believes that by doing so in the final two fixtures - he will prepare his team perfectly for the Champions League final against Chelsea.
The match will be played on the 29th of May in Porto.
'I told them to forget the football and enjoy your time with your family as a champion,' Guardiola said.
'We spoke in training that we have a routine, to be focused. They're training really good. The game against Newcastle, the people were more relaxed but I saw them today so focused.
'We'll play to win the next one and prepare for the final. I have no doubts the people are incredibly committed to win the three games we still have.'
Belgian creative midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is training again after suffering a minor injury and Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson will be back between the sticks for the match against Brighton. Quite a boost for City.
'We'll have six days to focus on the final after Everton,' Guardiola added. 'Now it is Brighton. You work to prepare for the final as good as possible.
'We won't be ready if we don't prepare for Brighton. I didn't speak one second about Chelsea. Tomorrow we'll play to win again and this is the best way to arrive to the final. In the six days, we'll be more focused on Chelsea.
'Kevin is important like everyone. When we are able to stick together and push each other, it will be possible to win it. Everyone is in the same level. We'll see what his level is, he's fit and ready to play.'
