
Struggling pair of Leopards, City Stars clash as FKFPL enters round ten

Three FKFPL matches are expected to be played on Saturday with the rest of teams being in action on Sunday
Nairobi City Stars will be gunning for their third win of the season when they host AFC Leopards at the Kasarani Main Stadium on Saturday at 3 p.m.
City Stars have been struggling in recent weeks as the club hasn’t won a game in the past four rounds, inviting pressure on coach Nicholas Muyoti.
Their last outing ended sourly after losing 2-1 to league debutants Murang’a Seal on Wednesday.
On top of that, the club saw forward Kelvin Etemesi saw red, meaning that he will not be available for selection against Leopards.
While Muyoti will miss Etemesi, he will be definitely be glad to have defensive midfielder Ronney Kola back in the team after shaking off an injury.
Leopards have also been struggling, as the former champions have won a game thus far in the season.
The team was expected to be ruthless following the appointment of Czech Republican coach Tomas Trucha, but there is nothing good to write home about his reign so far.
Leopards played Kariobangi Sharks to a barren draw. Trucha will have to do without the services of winger Cliff Nyakeya and skipper Washington Munene, who are nursing injuries.
According to statistics provided by City Stars, the game will be the 13th for Simba wa Nairobi as the host since 2006.
From the previous twelve home games, there is always an outright winner, and both have won six games. No draws have ever been registered when Ingwe are guests to Simba wa Nairobi.
Leopards registered the last win after seeing off City Stars 1-0 in Kasarani on January 4, 2023.
In the past 12 games, City Stars have outscored Leopards 12 goals to ten. Draws have been nonexistent. City Stars have scored their rivals 12 goals to ten.
Meanwhile, Nzoia Sugar will be looking for their second win of the season when they take on Kariobangi Sharks at Sudi Stadium.
Nzoia, who are winless in the last seven matches, played Talanta to a barren draw in their last outing.
Sofapaka will be looking for their third win when they play Talanta at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
