The 24-year-old changed the game for City in League One, scoring and assisting to force an entertaining draw with Crawley Town

Kenya international Vincent Harper was among the standout players plying their trade abroad as he came up with a goal and an assist in Exeter’s 4-4 draw with Crawley Town at St James Park on Sunday.

The 24-year-old, who was making a return to City’s starting lineup after coming off the bench against Bristol, got himself on the scoresheet at the hour mark when he cut in from the left to unleash a powerful effort into the top corner.

By then, Exeter had been trailing 4-1, and Harper’s goal helped set up an incredible fight-back in front of their home fans.

Ryan Woods curled a corner straight into the net with eight minutes remaining, before Demetri Mitchell curled an unstoppable stoppage time shot into the bottom corner to level the scores.

Harper’s goal was not the only contribution however, as he also set up Millenic Alli for Exeter’s first goal in the first half, a performance that saw him voted man-of-the-match.

With the result, Exeter made it to three games without a loss, and are up to 13th on the League One log.

Also across England and in the Championship, defender Zak Vyner featured for 90 minutes as Bristol City hammered Portsmouth 3-0 to move into 10th, while Clarke Oduor came off the bench in Bradford City’s 2-1 victory over Chesterfield in League Two.

In Scotland, Kenyan forward Jonah Ayunga was introduced from the bench in the second half as St.Mirren, off a remarkable win over Rangers, lost 2-1 to Dundee FC at Paisley 2021 Stadium.

The 27-year-old was introduced in the 63rd minute, but could not help his side avoid their ninth defeat of the season.

Also up the north, Kenyan midfielder Richard Odada was left on the bench as Dundee United claimed a huge 1-0 victory over Aberdeen.

The 24-year-old was among three key changes going into the game, and ultimately couldn’t be counted on despite getting his first start at the club last weekend against St. Johnstone.

The win, settled late by Kevin Holt, means Dundee are just a win away from breaking into the top three.

Elsewhere in Tanzania, Kenyan midfielder Duke Abuya was in action as Young Africans registered a comfortable 5-0 victory over Fountain Gate to move within one point of leaders Simba after 15 matches.
