Alphonce Omija walked straight into the starting eleven for Etoile Sahel, playing the full match in their 1-1 away draw with Monastir.

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga featured for his Qatar side Al Arabi in their 3-2 loss to Al Shamal in the Qatar Super League.

Fresh from scoring a brace in Harambee Stars’ last match against Seychelles, Olunga started for his club against the league leaders.

However, the former Gor Mahia forward was withdrawn in the 26th minute with the match still goalless after picking up an injury. The extent of the injury is yet to be known.

In England, Harambee Stars defender Zak Vyner played the full 90 minutes as Bristol City secured a 3-0 away victory over Sheffield Wednesday in a Championship match played on Saturday, September 13, at Hillsborough Stadium.

Vyner started on the right side of the back three, a position he has largely occupied since last season.

With the win, Bristol City are now third in the Championship with 11 points after five rounds of matches.

Bristol narrowly missed English Premier League promotion through the playoffs last season and are keen to secure an automatic spot this time around.

In League Two, Kenyan midfielder Vincent Harper played the full 90 minutes as his side Walsall FC battled to a 1-1 draw away to Fleetwood.

Harper, who started in midfield alongside Ryan Finnigan, marked his presence in the 56th minute when he received a yellow card.

Still in League Two, Clarke Oduor was introduced as a second-half substitute in the 75th minute as his side Grimsby Town left it late to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Cambridge United.

Cambridge had taken a first-half lead through Adam Mayor’s 31st-minute strike, but just when they thought they had secured all three points, Grimsby were awarded a penalty in the 96th minute. Jaze Kabia’s effort was saved, but Justin Amaluzor reacted quickly to slot home the rebound.

Walsall are now fourth in the League Two table with 16 points from eight matches, while Grimsby sit fifth with 15 points.

Elsewhere, Harambee Stars centre-back Collins Sichenje played the full match for his side Vojvodina in their 3-1 win over Cukaricki in the Serbian Mozzart Bet Super Liga.

With the victory, Vojvodina moved to the top of the Serbian top tier with 17 points after seven matches.

Sichenje was also impressive for Harambee Stars in the recent international break, scoring in Kenya’s 5-0 win over Seychelles.

In Tunisia, former Gor Mahia defender Alphonce Omija walked straight into the starting eleven for Etoile Sahel, playing the full match in their 1-1 away draw with Monastir.

Etoile are ninth on the log with five points, six behind league leaders Stade Tunisien.
