Bullets are determined to follow in the footsteps of Vihiga Queens, who won the inaugural edition four years ago.
Kenya Police Bullets face their biggest challenge yet in the CAF Women’s Champions League, CECAFA region qualifiers this afternoon when they take on Tanzanian champions Jeshi La Kujenga Taifa (JKT) in the semifinals at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
The law enforcers booked their place in the last four after a flawless group-stage campaign. They edged Kampala Queens 1-0 in their opener before overcoming a resilient Denden side 2-0 to secure a perfect record. That run set up a blockbuster clash with JKT, the 2023 champions, who also won both of their group matches against JKU Princess of Zanzibar and Yei Joints of South Sudan.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two sides in the competition, and many pundits believe either team has what it takes to go all the way. With home support behind them, the Bullets are determined to follow in the footsteps of Vihiga Queens, who won the inaugural edition four years ago.
Head coach Beldine Odemba expressed confidence that her players are ready for the challenge.
“We have prepared as a team from the start, aiming for a strong beginning and a strong finish. We respect our opponents, but there are no easy games in this competition. We are ready, and tomorrow will show,” she said.
Her captain, goalkeeper Annedy Kundu, echoed the coach’s sentiments but admitted the team is feeling the weight of expectation from the home crowd.
“It’s a bit challenging, playing at home with the fans’ pressure to win. Tomorrow’s match will be very competitive, but I’ll do my best not to concede. I want to use my experience to guide my defenders so we can push for the Golden Glove together,” the Harambee Starlets shot-stopper noted.
On the other side, JKT head coach Azishi Kondo predicted a tactical showdown and revealed that his team had been preparing for this particular clash.
“To be a big team, you must play and win against big teams. We knew we would meet Police at some stage, so we have prepared well and are confident of a positive result,” Kondo said.
The Police Bullets–JKT clash kicks off at 3:30 p.m., following the first semifinal between Rayon Sports and Kampala Queens, scheduled for 12:30 p.m., also at Kasarani.
