Zak Vyner

In the English Championship, Harambee Stars prospect Zak Vyner continued with his impressive form as he played the full 90 minutes for Bristol City as they secured a 2-1 away victory over former English Premier League side West Bromwich Albion.

As has been the case for the majority of this season, Vyner started on the right side of coach Gerhard Struber’s three-man defense and produced a strong performance.

Anis Mehmeti gave Bristol City the lead in the fourth minute from a Neto Borges cross before Ross McCorie doubled their lead in the 22nd minute.

Ousmane Diakite, however, netted a consolation goal five minutes from time, but Bristol held on to their lead until the final whistle to ensure they returned to the promotion playoff bracket at sixth position with 36 points.

Bristol's next match will be an away clash against fellow promotion hopefuls Millwall on Monday, 29 December at The Den, London.

Silko Otieno

Still in the English Championship, Kenyan midfielder Silko Thomas Otieno was a late substitute as his Leicester City side blew away a lead to settle for a 2-1 loss to Watford.

Jordan James' seventh-minute strike for Leicester was cancelled out by goals, either side of halftime, from Othmane Maamma and Mathew Pollock.

The loss left Leicester in 14th place in the Championship while Watford rose to eighth in the 24-team table.

Tyler Onyango

In the English League One, Kenyan midfielder Tyler Onyango was substituted just before halftime after suffering a knock as Stockport County were condemned to a 1-2 home defeat in their league match against Lincoln.

Hackett-Fairchild gave Lincoln a first-half lead in the 28th minute before Jayden Fevrier equalised for the hosts in the 52nd minute, pouncing on a rebound from Oliver Norwood’s saved penalty.

As the full-time whistle was almost sounding, Lincoln got a lifeline in the second minute of added time when they were awarded a penalty that Robert Steve converted to guarantee the visitors the three points.

Onyango’s Stockport are sixth on the League One standings with 35 points, while Lincoln are second with 41 points, three points behind league leaders Cardiff City.

Vincent Harper

In the other English match with Kenyan representation, Vincent Harper featured for over 90 minutes before being subbed off in the final minute as he helped Walsall to claim a 1-0 victory over Crewe in League Two.

Jamaican Jamille Matt’s lone goal in first-half stoppage time was enough to give Walsall a win that took them clear on top of League Two with 43 points, a point better than second-placed Bromley.
