The win took Batoto ba Mungu to fifteenth on the log with 11 points

Sofapaka FC head coach Ezekiel Akwana has hailed his charges for their impressive display as they dispatched Nzoia Sugar 3-1 in their backyard to end a troublesome week on a high.

The 2009 Kenya Premier League champions traveled with a lean squad of 12 players to Sudi following a go-slow due to non-payment of salaries for up to 14 months.

Fiston Abdul Razak's brace and Darius Msagha's goal were all Sofapaka needed to get all three points and rise to fifteenth place in the league standings

Speaking after the match, Akwana was pleased to get back to winning ways after a tough start to the season, adding that he was pleased his players executed his instructions to the letter, which left him very satisfied at the end

I have enjoyed the match today because the boys played as per the instructions, it worked the way we had prepared,” offered the former AFC Leopards midfielder.

Akwana further acknowledged Nzoia's quality suggesting with time, the team will be a force to reckon with, “Nzoia pressed us very well, they not a bad side, they are young lads who need time to catch up.”

How we played and the instructions we used are what propelled us to a win and I am grateful to my boys for the effort they exhibited,” stated Akwana.

On winning the match with a thin squad the tactician said, “Football is only been played with eleven players, if you prepare well with those players you can carry the day. So, what we did was to play with our strategy and wait for the moments. Glad our moments counted.”

The former Posta Rangers gaffer was quick to turn attention to their next league match against Kariobangi Sharks terming it a must-win game for his team.

My next match is against Kariobangi Sharks and we are going to prepare well since it is a must-win game. With enough training, I am sure of picking all points.”

Akwana, who was part of the Batoto Ba Mungu squad that lifted the KPL trophy for the first time of asking in 2009, hinted that the in-house unrest that derailed their preparations the previous week had been resolved and normalcy restored.
