Migori Youth head into the fixture determined to make a bright start to the second leg as they pursue elusive NSL silverware and a historic promotion to the FKF Premier League.
After Saturday’s 14 February fixtures ushered in the much anticipated second leg of the National Super League, action continues on Sunday 15 February with six mouth watering clashes set to further shape the promotion race.
At the heart of the day is a high stakes encounter at Awendo Green Stadium where league leaders Migori Youth host promotion hopefuls Nairobi City Stars in what promises to be a defining contest in the title chase.
Migori Youth head into the fixture determined to make a bright start to the second leg as they pursue elusive NSL silverware and a historic promotion to the FKF Premier League.
The Mozzart Bet backed side currently sits at the summit of the standings, level on points with Mombasa United, but separated by a slender two point cushion from third placed Michael Olunga Football Academy MOFA.
The equation is simple yet precarious. Any slip at home could see Migori tumble to third, depending on results involving both Mombasa United and MOFA.
Migori will also be seeking to bounce back from a frustrating draw against Soy United a fortnight ago, a result that momentarily slowed their momentum.
Head coach Sammy Otulo has already acknowledged the magnitude of the clash.
“It will be a tough match considering City Stars have had a good run so far and are equally eyeing promotion.
However, we must put in a good show to ensure we bag maximum points because any slip will negatively affect our quest for the title and promotion,” he told Mozzart Sport.
The youthful tactician received a timely boost with the return of forward Fredrick Ologi from a month long knee injury.

Ologi’s comeback, coupled with the signing of experienced striker Mike Isabwa from Mara Sugar, significantly strengthens Migori’s attacking arsenal.
“We are delighted to have Ologi back. He gives us the much needed punch upfront. As for Isabwa, he is an experienced attacker and a solid acquisition. His presence will be massive in our push,” Otulo added.
Migori’s biggest advantage remains their formidable home record.
Unbeaten at Awendo this season, they will rely heavily on that fortress mentality to fend off a City Stars side desperate to claw its way back to top flight football.
For Nairobi City Stars, Sunday presents both opportunity and revenge.
Relegated last season, the Kawangware based outfit is chasing an immediate return to the top tier.
Under coach Salim Babu, City Stars are riding an impressive 11 match unbeaten run.
However, five of their most recent matches have ended in draws, with their last victory dating back to 17 December 2025.
The clash also carries emotional undertones. City Stars suffered a 2 0 defeat in the first leg and will be eager to avenge that loss, while Migori aim to complete a league double.
Adding intrigue, Babu returns to familiar territory in Migori, where he previously honed his playing and coaching career.
With maximum points at stake, Awendo is poised for a thriller.
Mombasa United seek summit lead
At Mbaraki Stadium, title hopefuls Mombasa United welcome Kisumu All Stars in another pivotal fixture.
The Gilbert Selebwa coached side has been formidable at home, collecting the bulk of their victories on the coast.
Riding a three match winning streak, Mombasa will aim to extend it to four and potentially open a three point gap at the summit, should results elsewhere swing in their favour.
Yet they face a rejuvenated Kisumu All Stars side enjoying renewed belief under coach Duncan Otieno.
Since taking charge in December 2025, Otieno has overseen a remarkable turnaround.
The once struggling outfit has lost just once in seven matches, registering three wins and three draws.
Currently 16th on 21 points, All Stars are fighting to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
Notably, they stunned Mombasa United 2 0 in the reverse fixture and will be seeking to complete an unlikely double, while Selebwa’s men will be fuelled by revenge.
Fortune Sacco, MOFA clash in Kirinyaga showdown

Elsewhere, Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga hosts another explosive encounter as Fortune Sacco take on Michael Olunga Football Academy MOFA.
Fortune Sacco, currently fifth on 32 points, sit five points behind Migori and three behind MOFA in the automatic promotion slots.
The microfinance backed outfit will be eager to extend their unbeaten run to five matches and bounce back from a 2 2 draw with Luanda Villa.
However, they confront a MOFA side in imperious form.
Backed by Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga, the Homa Bay based club is riding an extraordinary 12 match unbeaten streak.
Coach Charles Bruno knows victory in Kirinyaga could propel MOFA to the summit on 38 points should both Migori and Mombasa falter.
MOFA won the first leg 2 1 and will aim to complete a double, while Fortune Sacco seek redemption in what promises to be a high tempo duel.
