The financial rewards include Ksh1 million for each player for every win that Kenya registers in the biennial continental championship.
Ruto pledged the promise after meeting Harambee Stars players in camp on Saturday, 2 August, just a day before Kenya's opening game against DR Congo.
Among the cash rewards are: Ksh60 million for reaching the quarter finals, Ksh70 million for booking a last-four ticket and a mouthwatering Ksh600 million for winning the tournament on home soil.
Harambee Stars players will also not walk away empty-handed should they secure a draw in the tournament, as Ruto promised Ksh500,000 to each player for a stalemate.
The amount adds to the growing list of financial rewards that the team continues to receive since they joined camp.
On their first day in camp, Harambee Stars received a financial token of Ksh700,000: Ksh500,000 from Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya and Ksh200,000 from FKF President Hussein Mohammed.
President Ruto awarded the team Ksh5 million during his first visit to the team, while Bunge FC boosted the morale of the team with a Ksh1 million token during their visit on Wednesday, 30 July.
The biennial continental championship, which was initially set for 2024, was postponed to February and later to August, kicks off today, Saturday 2 August, with the opening ceremony as well as the first match- Tanzania vs Burkina Faso taking place at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Kenya will begin their campaign tomorrow, Sunday, 3 August, with a clash against DR Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, from 1500 hrs.
