According to club CEO Chris Oguso, the back-to-back league champions are go out with guns blazing with a singular mission of clinching a spot at the CAF Women’s Champions League, a feat they narrowly missed last year.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Oguso said the team had taken valuable lessons from their last campaign, where they fell 1-0 to Ethiopia’s Central Bank (CBE) in the CECAFA final staged at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa.

This time, we are correcting past mistakes, and it begins with reinforcing the squad,” he said.

Head coach Beldine Odemba is expected to lead the rebuilding mission, with a focus on sharpening the attack, an area Oguso admitted needed improvement.

We lacked a clinical finisher. Now, the responsibility is on the technical bench to scout and bring in the right players. We have already identified a few targets and are waiting for the transfer window to open,” Oguso added.

The club has already unveiled Uganda Crested Cranes captain Zaina Namuleme, while talks are ongoing with Kampala Queens forward Mercyline Wayodi. Negotiations are said to have started a month ago through intermediaries.

Oguso is also personally motivated, chasing history as the first club CEO to lead two teams from Kenya, men and women, to the CAF Champions League in the same year.

Bullets secured their qualification spot for CECAFA by retaining the league title on the final day of the season.

They undoubtedly sealed the crown, beating Trinity Starlets 4-2 in their last match.

Last season’s painful exit to CBE denied them a historic debut at the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The Bullets had hoped to become only the second Kenyan team to feature at the tournament, following Vihiga Queens’ appearance in the inaugural edition in 2021.
