The French international is facing a potential career-ending ban and wants to avoid the worst case scenario

While his lawyers are preparing for a trial, Paul Pogba is having a house cleaning, with emphasis on the kitchen. The French international tested positive for testosterone for the second time in the counter-analysis undergone earlier this week and could face a potential career-ending life ban. Pogba was found positive for testosterone after an away Serie A game against Udinese on August 20, which watched from the bench and was an unused substitute. The results of his failed doping test were revealed three weeks ago, and now, when he failed it for the second time, his only goal was to somehow prove he did it unintentionally in order to stand any chance at the trial.

Paul Pogba is having every cream and supplement in his house analyzed, and his wife also gave her supplements to be tested in case of contamination so that he can defend himself and either be pronounced innocent or get a lighter punishment. So far, a possible ban will be between two and four years, and given his age (30), and recent injury record, a heavy ban could end his career way before schedule.

Juventus is also considering a possibility given to them by this chain of events to cut ties with their in-trouble, 7 million euros a year player.

On a human level, I am very close to him. I knew him since he was a young boy. It is a great pity for all of football to lose a player who was special. It is a difficult moment for him and we can only wish him the best” said coach Massimiliano Allegri. Juve’s president John Elkann, gave a similar statement, stating that humanly, ‘I’m sorry, he’s been one of the biggest potential talents over the last few years.

While waiting for a sentence, which can be given as early as today, Pogba and his lawyers are doing everything they can to prepare for an appeal, and his agent Rafaela Pimenta has reiterated that her client ‘never intended to break the rules.’ DHEA, Dehydroepiandrosterone, a banned substance that naturally boosts testosterone production, was found in Pogba’s system.
