Paraguayan senator threatens Mbappe: Apologize to me, or you'll end up in prison like Ronaldinho!

Even though the game between France and Paraguay was played almost three days ago, the dust has yet to settle, and the situation appears to be spiralling out of control
Kylian Mbappe has become public enemy No. 1 in Paraguay!
Not because he scored the winner from the spot for France's 1-0 victory over the South American country in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32, but because of everything that happened during and after the match.
The Les Bleus captain was at war with the Paraguayan players throughout the game, both taking and dishing out plenty of provocation. After the referee's final whistle, he also refused to shake hands with the opponents' goalkeeper, Orlando Gill.
However, all that was just the beginning of the drama.
While the whole football world was criticizing Paraguay's approach and "dirty tactics", the country's senator Celeste Amarilla launched a racist tirade on her social media, calling Mbappe a "colonized Cameroonian pretending to be French" and claiming that "the most educated beings he had ever heard were chimpanzees".
Even French president Emmanuel Macron and the Paraguayan government reacted, while the Real Madrid star fired back at Amarilla, calling her a "despicable woman". And now, he is being threatened with legal action!
The Paraguayan senator wasted no time hitting back at his comments, demanding an apology. Otherwise, he could suffer the same fate as the legendary Ronaldinho, who ended up in prison in Paraguay after trying to enter the country with a fake passport in March 2020.

The Paraguayan politician said:
“I’d tell him to be careful with Paraguayans. We already put Ronaldinho in prison for corruption. So who is this little Mbappé from Cameroon who claims he’s from… pic.twitter.com/BbJ86n4pUx
"I was wronged and had sufficient reason to file a complaint."
"I would tell (Mbappé) to read my letter, if he can read, and I would tell him to be careful with Paraguayans. Ronaldinho has already been imprisoned here , and he shouldn't underestimate me; I can sue him for gender violence and political violence. He should apologize to me,” Amarilla said via the ABC.
In the end, we can only hope both sides restore civility and bring this war of words to an end before it escalates any further, as it benefits no one.
