Reports from Zambia claimed the move had encountered an unexpected hurdle over an alleged disagreement regarding Shumah's share of the transfer proceeds

The Durban-based club unveiled Shumah as one of seven new signings ahead of the 2026/27 season as they strengthen their squad for the domestic campaign.

In a statement, AmaZulu welcomed the new arrivals, saying: "Welcome to Usuthu, Moses Shumah, Kgomotjo Lekoloane, Gape Moralo, Mncedi Vandala, Omega Mdaka, Keenan Phillips and Faveur Kouassi."

Power Dynamos announced Shumah's departure two weeks ago, ending a successful spell in Zambia where the Kenya international established himself as one of the league's most prolific forwards and played a key role in the club's back-to-back Zambia Super League title triumphs.

However, shortly after the transfer was confirmed, reports from Zambia claimed the move had encountered an unexpected hurdle over an alleged disagreement regarding Shumah's share of the transfer proceeds.

According to the reports, the striker and his representatives delayed his trip to South Africa after he allegedly failed to receive an agreed percentage of the transfer fee from his former club.

It was further claimed that AmaZulu had already fulfilled their obligations by paying the agreed transfer fee to Power Dynamos, leaving the South African club frustrated by Shumah's delayed arrival as pre-season preparations got underway.

The reports also suggested the Harambee Stars forward risked disciplinary action for failing to report for training, while AmaZulu were reportedly considering escalating the matter to FIFA if the impasse remained unresolved.

Neither AmaZulu, Power Dynamos, nor the player's representatives publicly commented on the reported financial dispute.

Despite the uncertainty, AmaZulu have now officially unveiled the former Kakamega Homeboyz forward, putting to rest any doubts over his transfer as the club gears up for the new season.

The former FKF Premier League Golden Boot winner will now be hoping to replicate his goalscoring exploits in South Africa as AmaZulu prepare for a demanding campaign.
