Painful lesson: Inter thrash Roma and show them how Scudettos are won

In the most efficient derby since 2011, the Nerazzurri destroyed the Wolfess 5-2, making it clear that they are the top contenders for the Serie A title
Roma came to Milan to trip Inter in the title race, but were thrashed like never before this season!
For the first time in the ongoing campaign, the Wolfess conceded more than three goals, as the Nerazzurri taught Gian Piero Gasperini’s men a lesson on how a squad worthy of a Scudetto was supposed to play.
Roma conceded in the first minute and in added time of the first half, while the second period was a specific disaster for the capital crew, as their defence collapsed three times until the 63rd minute.
In the end, it was 5-2, and this was the most efficient Inter-Roma duel since February 2011, when the Milan side triumphed 5-3.
The Nerazzurri’s offensive duo was especially in the mood for crushing the rivals tonight, as Lautaro Martinez bagged a brace and Marcus Thuram shone with a goal and two assists.
All in all, this match showed that the Giallorossi are still far beyond Inter’s level, and thus beyond the level required to win the Serie A title.
Roma still have a lot to learn.
Inter pick up a very convincing 5-2 win over Roma and extend their lead at the top to nine points.

When the pressure was on, they delivered. Over to Milan to deliver against Napoli tomorrow.
Even though the duels between Inter and Roma have lately been known for few goals, Lautaro Martinez tonight broke the deadlock only 60 seconds into the game!
Manuel Akanji sent an excellent through-ball to Marcus Thuram, who crossed it into the visitors' area, where the Nerazzurri captain met it and fired into the net for 1-0.
The early opener stunned Roma, who needed time to recover from shock, and Lautaro almost exploited their confusion to knock them down in the 13th minute, but the Giallorossi's custodian Mile Svilar came to the rescue.
Gian Piero Gasperini's men threatened for the first time in the 24th minute following a free-kick cross and Donyell Malen's header, but Yann Sommer pulled off a great save.
Still, Roma's second opportunity brought the leveller! Four minutes before the break, after a poor reaction of Inter's defence, Gianluca Mancini found himself all alone in the home team's box and headed the ball into the back of the net, taking advantage of Devyne Rensch's good cross.
Yet, it wasn't the last of it! Just seven minutes after the equalizer, in the second minute of added time, Hakan Calhanoglu put the Milan side back in front, bagging a genuine screamer from a distance and dealing the visitors another shock.
As if the Turk's goal completely disheartened Gasperini's crew, Inter shortly increased the gap by two goals, scoring them in the span of three minutes - between the 52nd and 55th! Before the first goal, Thuram stole the ball from clumsy Rensch and provided an assist for Lautaro, and then, three minutes later, he placed the ball into the top left corner of Svilar's goal following Calhanoglu's corner kick.
The Wolfess was on the ropes and facing a genuine disaster.
The thrashing continued in the 63rd minute, when Nicolo Barella also found the net, while the visitors managed to pull one back seven minutes later when Lorenzo Pellegrini scored and put and end to one of the most efficient clash between Inter and Roma since February 2011, when the Nerazzurri triumphed 5-3 at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
This way, Inter made a massive step towards the Serie A title, and even though nothing is over yet, their form suggests they are ready to get back on the Italian throne.
