From last-gasp heartbreak in Nairobi to commanding dominance in Dandora, matchday action underlined just how unforgiving the race for top-flight football has become.
Promotion-chasing Soy United suffered a damaging setback at Gems Cambridge after falling 1-0 to hosts Kibera Black Stars in dramatic fashion.
Just when the contest appeared destined for a stalemate, Donald Omwanda struck two minutes from time, delivering a decisive blow to Soy’s promotion and title charge.
The Rubis Energy-backed outfit capitalised on a momentary lapse, punishing Soy with ruthless efficiency, ending the Blue Eagles' seven-match unbeaten run.
The defeat saw Soy drop valuable points in a tightly contested promotion race.
Remaining sixth on the log, they failed to reduce the deficit to two points and now sit five points adrift of Migori, a gap that could prove costly as the season gathers momentum.
For Black Stars, however, the victory was transformative.
The three points propelled them to seventh place on 30 points, reigniting their own promotion aspirations.
They now sit five points off the promotion slots and seven behind the summit, firmly re-entering the conversation after a period of inconsistency.
FC Talanta 3-1 Vihiga United
At Dandora Stadium, in an early mid-morning 11:00 am kick off, FC Talanta produced one of the most commanding performances of the weekend, dismantling visiting Vihiga United 3-1.
Douglas Kibet broke the deadlock six minutes before the hour mark, setting the tone for a dominant second-half display.
Brian Lusamukha and Brian Nyambane added further goals to seal a comprehensive victory for the former FKF Premier League side.
Backed by the Communications Authority of Kenya, Talanta’s victory was more than emphatic; it was strategic.
The result lifted them to eighth position on 29 points, strengthening their push for an immediate return to the top flight.
Vihiga United, meanwhile, suffered a defeat that compounded an already troubling campaign.
Rooted at the bottom of the 20-team table, their hopes of clawing out of the relegation zone continue to fade as the pressure mounts with each passing fixture.
Equity FC 1-1 Naivas FC
At KIHBT Grounds, Equity FC were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Naivas FC, dropping two crucial points in their quest for promotion and potential league honours.
The stalemate denied John 'Kamara' Mbezwa’s charges the opportunity to close the gap on Migori to just one point and climb into second place.
Instead, the Bankers moved into fourth position, still firmly in contention but having missed a valuable opportunity to assert greater control in the race.
Despite the frustration of dropped points, the draw nudged Equity a point closer to the automatic promotion slots, keeping their ambitions intact.
For Naivas, the result reflected a season defined by inconsistency.
The Retailers remain 12 points off the summit and 10 away from automatic promotion territory, competitive yet lacking the sustained momentum required to mount a serious late push.
