Ahead of National Super League week three fixtures taking stage, Naivas FC will be out to extend their fine start to the 2025/26 NSL campaign when they lock horns with Vihiga United in a highly anticipated clash on Saturday, 11 October.
The retailers have enjoyed a perfect start to the new season, winning both of their opening fixtures by identical 1–0 margins.

With promotion to the top flight now more competitive following the scrapping of the relegation/promotion playoff system, Naivas, who have narrowly missed out on elevation to the FKF Premier League in successive seasons, will be keen to avoid another end-of-season heartbreak.
Last weekend, the seasoned NSL outfit edged Mully Children’s Family (MCF) at the Vapor Grounds, a victory that lifted them to joint top of the 20-team standings.
However, head coach Elvis Ayani’s side faces a tricky assignment against Vihiga United, who are still searching for their first win since the league kicked off on 27 September.
Victory for Naivas today will take them to nine points and place them firmly in control at the summit of the table.
Vihiga, on the other hand, will be determined to make home advantage count as they chase their first victory of the season.
Coach Milton Kidiga’s charges began their campaign with a 1–1 draw against newly promoted Kabati Youth, before falling 1–0 to Michael Olunga Foundation Academy (MOFA) in their first home outing.
The two sides share a closely contested history, with Naivas winning three of their last seven encounters, Vihiga taking two, and the remaining two ending in stalemates, setting the stage for another battle to be tightly fought at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo.
At Mbaraki Stadium, in an early 1:00 p.m. kickoff, Mombasa United will be eyeing their third consecutive win when they host Luanda Villa FC.
The coastal side has made an excellent start to life in the new campaign, opening with a 1–0 victory over MCF, before edging Fortune Sacco FC 2–1 last weekend, a result that saw them claim early leadership of the NSL standings.
Yet they face a stern test against Luanda Villa, who are still chasing their first win of the season.
The Leonard Swaleh-coached side picked up a point in their 1–1 opening draw with Equity FC at Mumboha Stadium, before falling 1–0 to Nairobi City Stars in their second fixture.
Recent meetings between the two have been nothing short of dramatic.
Mombasa United triumphed 3–1 and 3–2 in their home fixtures, while Luanda Villa responded with emphatic 5–1 and 5–0 victories on their own turf, underlining the unpredictability of this fixture.
A win for Gilbert Selebwa’s men would take them to nine points and cement their position at the top, while victory for Luanda Villa would move them to four points and reignite their early-season hopes.
At Dandora Stadium, former FKF Premier League side FC Talanta will host 3K FC in the day’s final encounter.
Talanta will be eager to bounce back following a surprise 1–0 loss to Migori Youth last weekend. Head coach Jackson Gatheru has urged his charges to respond swiftly and keep in touch with the early pace-setters.
However, Talanta face a confident 3K FC side buoyed by their first win of the season, a 1–0 triumph over Darajani Gogo at Embu Stadium.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, setting the stage for an intriguing contest.
While Talanta will be seeking redemption, Francis Chege’s men will look to build on their momentum and register back-to-back victories to climb further up the standings.
