Saturday’s action in the National Super League (NSL) produced plenty of drama, especially at the tail end of the table.

Kisumu All Stars and Vihiga United both picked up rare wins in dramatic fashion.
All Stars defeated Mwatate United while Vihiga got the better of Kibera Black Stars, with both victories coming away from home.
With none of the top three sides in action on Saturday, the promotion hopefuls will take to the pitch today looking to strengthen their push.
Migori Youth vs Soy United
Action gets underway at Awendo Green Stadium, where second-placed Migori Youth hosts tenth-placed Soy United from 2pm.
Migori knows that only a win will see them move level on points with league leaders Mombasa United should the coastal side drop points against Kabati Youth.
Under Coach Sammy Otulo, Migori returns to familiar territory after conquering Vihiga away in Kisumu.
At home, they boast an impressive record, remaining unbeaten in their last 11 matches, with three draws being their worst result during that run.
Their overall form has also improved, and they will be chasing a third consecutive win after victories against Darajani Gogo and Vihiga in their most recent outings.
However, the border club will face a Soy side desperate to return to winning ways.
The Blue Eagles have not registered a victory since February, with their last maximum points coming against Gucha Stars at the end of January.
Under the tutelage of coach Jeffers Odongo, Soy has now gone five matches without a win, losing three and drawing two.
The draws came against FC Talanta and Migori Youth, while defeats were suffered against 3K, Naivas, and Kibera Black Stars.
Their poor away record also worsens the situation for the Eagles, having managed just one win in their last 11 away matches, drawing three, and losing the rest.
A victory today could lift Soy to eighth place depending on results elsewhere.
3K vs MOFA
At Moi Stadium in Embu, sixth-placed 3K FC welcome third-placed Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) in another crucial fixture in the promotion race.
3K head into the clash riding on a strong wave of form that has seen them win their last five matches in all competitions.
In the league, they have beaten Soy United, Kisumu All Stars, and Luanda Villa to record three straight wins.
MOFA coach Charles Warinda has challenged his players to raise their level ahead of the tough encounter.
“The league is competitive, and games are getting tougher. We must step up our game for us to get a positive result on Sunday,” said Warinda.
Despite expressing satisfaction with his team’s progress so far, Warinda admitted they must do more as they chase promotion to the FKF Premier League.
“I’m looking forward to the game against 3K, which is a good team. It will be an entertaining match. Embu always has a good atmosphere because of the large number of fans attending games here,” he added.
Warinda said the White Rhinos will miss goalkeeper Austin Prince due to illness, while forwards Rodgers Ouma and Fredrick Onyango are sidelined with injuries.
However, he downplayed their absence, saying the team has capable replacements. He also hopes leading scorer Vincent Nyabuto will continue his impressive goal-scoring form.
The striker leads the line alongside forwards Joshua Amunike and Laban Otieno, who have scored nine and eight goals, respectively.
Former MOFA forward Alex Mwalimu is 3K’s top scorer with eight goals.
Both teams are firmly in the promotion race. MOFA sits third with 41 points, while 3K occupies fourth place with 37.
Last weekend, MOFA edged past Naivas FC 1-0 at Raila Odinga Stadium, while 3K was not in NSL action.
Former Fortune Sacco FC coach Nicodemus Omasete recently took over at 3K, replacing Francis Chege, who has since joined Mully Children’s Family FC.
In Mombasa, league leaders Mombasa United will host 15th-placed Kabati Youth at Mombasa Sports Club in an early kick-off scheduled for 1pm.
