With the league now entering its final third, both the title race and the fight against relegation continue to intensify.

The FKF Premier League Matchweek 24 comes to an end today, Sunday, 15 March, with four exciting matches lined up across different venues.

Kenyan giants Gor Mahia will take on Ulinzi Stars, while Shabana FC will face Kariobangi Sharks. Tusker FC will battle Kakamega Homeboyz as KCB FC take on Murang'a Seal.

Ahead of today’s matches, Gor Mahia sit at the top of the league table with 50 points, seven more than second-placed AFC Leopards who suffered defeat against Mathare United on Saturday. Shabana complete the top three with 40 points.

At the bottom of the table are the 2009 champions Sofapaka FC with 14 points. They are joined in the relegation zone by Ulinzi Stars and APS Bomet FC with 19 and 20 points respectively.

With the league now entering its final third, both the title race and the fight against relegation continue to intensify.

Ulinzi Stars vs Gor Mahia

Military side Ulinzi Stars will host Gor Mahia at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata from 1530 hrs in what is commonly referred to as the Sirkal Derby.

Gor Mahia head into the match in impressive form and are on a 13 match unbeaten run, including eight wins in their last 10 matches.

The 21 time record league champions currently enjoy a seven point lead at the top of the table and are on course to make amends for last season’s disappointment when they finished without a trophy.

However, K’Ogalo have produced underwhelming performances in their last two matches, scoring late to secure a draw against Posta Rangers FC and suffering defeat against fifth tier side BB Bread FC in the Mozzart Bet Cup.

The side coached by Charles Akonnor will therefore be seeking a return to winning ways against Ulinzi as they shift their focus fully to the league campaign.

Ulinzi Stars on the other hand are struggling for form this season and find themselves at risk of relegation.

The 2010 league champions have won just one of their last 13 league matches and have suffered six defeats in their last 10 league games.

However, they recently cruised to the Round of 16 of the Mozzart Bet Cup with a 7 0 victory over Zoo FC, a confidence boost they will hope to carry into the league.

Shabana vs Kariobangi Sharks

Shabana will return to league action at the Gusii Stadium after three weeks when they host Kariobangi Sharks from 1400 hrs.

The Glamour Boys have been in solid form, winning six of their last 10 league matches.

However, Shabana, who had been unbeaten away from home, suffered a heavy 5 1 defeat to AFC Leopards in their last league match, a result they will be eager to put behind them with a win over Sharks.

Kariobangi Sharks are currently battling relegation and sit 14th on the table with 22 points, just two points above the drop zone.

Sharks will also be without striker Ally Salum, who suffered another injury in their 1 0 defeat to Tusker FC in their last league match.

Tusker vs Kakamega Homeboyz

Tusker FC will host Kakamega Homeboyz at the Wang’uru Stadium in Kirinyaga from 1400 hrs.

The Brewers have struggled for consistency this season and currently sit seventh on the table with 34 points, four behind fourth placed Homeboyz.

Tusker have won just four of their last 10 matches while losing five.

However, the team appears to be improving following the appointment of French coach Julien Mette who has guided them to two wins in their last three matches as the team begins to rebuild.

Homeboyz have also been inconsistent in their title push but have shown improvement recently, including winning three of their last five matches.

KCB FC vs Murang'a Seal

In the other match of the day, KCB FC will face Murang'a Seal at the Nyayo National Stadium from 1500 hrs.

The Bankers sit 10th on the table with 33 points and are on a poor run of form, having won just three of their last 10 matches.

Murang'a Seal on the other hand have been impressive and have won seven of their last 10 matches, placing them sixth on the standings with 36 points.
