A win could potentially propel 3K back into the automatic promotion places, depending on results involving Mombasa United

The FKF National Super League enters a decisive phase on Monday, 1 June, with all eyes firmly fixed on both ends of the table as ten crucial fixtures headline the Madaraka Day treat.

With just two matches remaining before the curtain falls on the 2025/2026 campaign, the battle for promotion and the fight against relegation have intensified, setting the stage for a dramatic afternoon across the country.

At the summit, league leaders Migori Youth, Mombasa United, 3K FC and Equity FC remain locked in a fierce race for the two automatic promotion slots.

Meanwhile, Kabati Youth, Vihiga United, Mwatate United, Mully Children Family (MCF) and Darajani Gogo continue their desperate struggle to avoid the drop.

Migori eye another step towards promotion

League leaders, Migori Youth, will make the short trip to Kisumu to face Kisumu All Stars.

The Sammy Otulo-coached side heads into the encounter knowing victory could prove pivotal in their quest for both the league title and promotion to the FKF Premier League.

Migori currently sit atop the standings with 72 points and will be keen to preserve their slender two-point advantage over second-placed Mombasa United.

Depending on results elsewhere, victory could even stretch their lead to four points.

Speaking ahead of the clash, team captain Kelly Otieno emphasized the importance of maintaining focus during the final stretch of the campaign.

"We are at that stage of the season where every game matters. We are treating every match as a final. We expect a tough challenge from Kisumu All Stars because they are also fighting for survival, but we want to get the job done and keep moving forward," Otieno told Mozzart Sport.

However, Migori are unlikely to have it easy against an All Stars side battling for its National Super League status.

The former FKF Premier League outfit has endured a difficult campaign but remains determined to secure crucial points in its survival bid.

The hosts will also be motivated by revenge after suffering a 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at Awendo Stadium earlier in the season, adding further intrigue to what promises to be a captivating contest.

Mombasa United seek immediate response in Luanda

At Mumboha Grounds in Luanda, second-placed Mombasa United will be looking to bounce back when they face Luanda Villa.

The coastal side saw their promotion push temporarily stalled following a frustrating goalless draw against fellow promotion contenders 3K FC last weekend, a result that saw them drop two valuable points in the title race.

With Migori Youth showing little sign of slowing down, Mombasa can not afford another setback.

Maximum points will be the target as they seek to keep pace with the leaders and maintain their grip on an automatic promotion place.

Their hosts, however, will be equally determined to make amends after suffering a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Kabati Youth in their previous outing.

Coach Leonard Swaleh will demand an immediate reaction from his charges as Luanda Villa look to finish the season strongly and restore pride in front of their home supporters.

Talanta test awaits third-placed 3K

Another fascinating encounter is set for Embu Stadium, where 3K FC host a rejuvenated FC Talanta.

The Embu-based side has endured a difficult spell at a crucial point in the season, suffering back-to-back setbacks that saw them surrender top spot and slip to third place on the table.

Now four points behind leaders Migori and two adrift of the automatic promotion positions, coach Nicodemus Omasete knows anything less than victory could severely damage his side's top-flight ambitions.

A win could potentially propel 3K back into the automatic promotion places, depending on results involving Mombasa United.

Standing in their way, however, is an FC Talanta side enjoying one of the best runs in the division.

The James Gatheru-coached outfit is unbeaten in its last five matches, winning four consecutive games during that stretch.

Notably, Talanta have collected impressive results against promotion contenders, including victories over Fortune Sacco and Mombasa United, while also earning a valuable point away to MOFA in Kisumu.

Having missed out on an immediate return to the FKF Premier League, Talanta are now targeting a strong finish and will be eager to extend their unbeaten run to six matches while pushing for a top-five finish.

Equity looking to keep pressure on front-runners

At Mashuru Complex in Kajiado, fourth-placed Equity FC will welcome Soy United, knowing they cannot afford to lose ground in the promotion race.

The Bankers sit on 68 points, four behind second-placed Mombasa United, and remain firmly in contention for promotion.

Equity arrive in excellent form, having gone 13 consecutive matches without defeat.

Coach John Kamara Mbezwa will be hoping his side can stretch that impressive run to 14 matches while potentially moving within a point of Mombasa should the coastal side falter in Luanda.

Soy United, however, have enjoyed a commendable campaign in their return to the second tier and remain determined to finish strongly.

Under Jeffers Odongo, the visitors have established themselves as a competitive force and will be aiming to cause an upset while strengthening their bid for a top-half finish.

Relegation six-pointer as MCF host Mwatate

At Ndalani Complex in Machakos, attention will shift to the opposite end of the table where Mully Children Family (MCF) and Mwatate United face off in what could prove a defining relegation battle.

The two sides occupy the bottom positions on the standings and are separated by just three points heading into the encounter.

MCF will be desperate to capitalize on home advantage and strengthen their survival prospects.

Win would lift the church-sponsored side to 31 points and provide a crucial boost heading into the final rounds of the campaign.

For Mwatate United, the stakes could not be higher.

Currently rooted to the foot of the table on 25 points, James Tole's men know that only a positive result will keep their survival hopes alive.

Victory would significantly reduce the gap and set up a thrilling conclusion to the relegation battle.

With both sides fighting for their lives, an intense and fiercely contested affair is expected.

Other Fixtures

Meanwhile, MOFA will host Kibera Black Stars at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, while Naivas FC take on relegation-threatened Vihiga United.

Nzoia Sugar welcome Fortune Sacco to Sudi Stadium, Gucha Stars host strugglers Darajani Gogo in Awendo, and Nairobi City Stars face Kabati Youth at Gems Cambridge School.
