In Embu, Mombasa United’s unbeaten start to the campaign came to an end after suffering a 2-0 defeat to hosts 3K FC at Moi Stadium

Luanda Villa finally registered their first win of the new National Super League (NSL) campaign after edging newcomers Kabati Youth 2-1 at Mumboha Grounds on Sunday, 26 October.

Dylan Wakake and Doreack Otieno were on target for Villa, while Bancy Ivayo pulled one back for Kabati.

Before this victory, Leonard Swaleh’s side had endured a difficult start to the season, going three matches without a win( a draw and two defeats) .

The poor run had left the team languishing in the relegation zone, much to the frustration of their passionate supporters.

However, luck finally smiled on Villa this weekend as they broke the jinx in front of their home fans.

Otieno opened the scoring in the 11th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse before Villa doubled their advantage through Wakake in the 43rd minute.

Kabati reduced the deficit in the 73rd minute when Ivayo slotted home.

The victory lifts Luanda Villa to 11th place on four points from as many matches, while Kabati remain in the drop zone with a point from their opening four games.

3K FC 2-0 Mombasa United

In Embu, Mombasa United’s unbeaten start to the campaign came to an end after suffering a 2-0 defeat to hosts 3K FC at Moi Stadium.

The match began at a high tempo, with both sides trading attacks early on.

Mombasa relied heavily on long balls, attempting to exploit spaces behind the 3K defense, while the home side looked more composed in possession.

3K eventually broke the deadlock in the 38th minute when Duncan Wabwire rose highest to head home a well-delivered corner.

After the break, the tide turned decisively in favor of the hosts, who dominated proceedings and kept Mombasa pinned in their own half.

Their persistence paid off in the 78th minute when Oscar Juma dazzled the crowd—dribbling past four defenders before sending in a low cross that Peter Wahinya flicked in at the near post with a touch of class.

The win propels 3K to seventh on the log with seven points, while Mombasa United slip from first to third with nine points.

Nairobi City Stars 2-3 Kibera Black Stars

At Vapor Grounds in Ngong, Kibera Black Stars continued their fine form with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Nairobi City Stars, making it three wins in a row and moving closer to the promotion brackets.

Fidel Castro, Bockins Adeya, and Jephiter Bundi found the net for the visitors, while Joshua Amunike and Abuyekah Kubasu scored for City Stars.

Elsewhere, Nzoia Sugar held FC Talanta to a goalless draw at Sudi Stadium, while Soy United marked their return to the league with a barren draw against Kisumu All Stars at Moi Stadium.

The second-tier action resumes on Wednesday with another round of fixtures.
