Omondi took over the reins of the mailmen following the departure of Omollo, ahead of his impending transfer to FKF Premier League newbies APS Bomet.

The former Naivas head coach oversaw his side's 1-0 win over Bidco United in what was his first match in charge of the team.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport after the match, Omondi explained the notable difference that stakeholders should expect in his tenure.

Expect more attacking football. I do not believe in sitting back. We will always look for goals then think of defending once we score.

Nevertheless, we will always adapt based on our opponents and the situation but with an attacking mind,” said Omondi.

It is that very tactic that the former Mathare United head coach credited for the victory that brought an end to the team's six-match winless streak.

We went into the match to look for goals after scoring only three goals and conceding 10 in our last six matches.

I therefore told the guys not to think about being defensive but rather attack first, score goals then defend later,” he added.

For Omondi, he prefers to defend by pinning the opposition in their own half and to prevent damage from high up the pitch.

You remember we played a match without a shot on target (against Sofapaka) and I had to change that.

I also believe that the best way to defend is to attack and that is exactly what we did,” he added.

With the win, the mailmen moved to fourth on the log standings with 16 points to their name ahead of their Friday 5 December match against Nairobi United.

Bidco on the other hand are ninth with 13 points as their winless run extends to six matches ahead of their Saturday 6 clash with Shabana at the Gusii Stadium.
