The forward has two goals and an assists to his name in four league games

Murang’a Seal attacker Wilson Kamau is yearning for playing time when the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) resumes after the international break.

Kamau was stretched off in the 50th minute of the league debutant’s barren draw with Muhoroni Youth due to a recurring hamstring injury in October.

The injury saw him miss out of action for a month sitting out of the Seals, Nairobi City Stars and Tusker FC victories as well as the chaotic barren draw against defending champions Gor Mahia at the Kasarani Main Stadium.

The player, who has been with the club since 2018 while in the fourth tier, was poised to miss this weekend’s clash against Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB FC) clash but has since received the green light from the club physios thus resuming training.

Having received the green light to resume training, Kamau, who has overseen three promotions at the club, is hoping to hit full fitness and vie for game time when the league matches resume on Saturday.

The competition which enters match day twelve, had taken a break to pave the way for the national team, Harambee Stars who played Gabon before dispatching Seychelles on Monday night.

"I am happy to have shaken off the injury that had kept me out for some weeks. I am working towards being fully fit as my aim is to compete when the league resumes," offered Kamau in an interview with Mozzart Sport.

Kamau further expressed his desire to hit double-digit goals in his maiden FKF Premier League season and scale his boyhood club to a respectable position at the conclusion of the campaign if not secure a silverware.

“I am going for ten goals this season and at least help my team achieve a top-five finish or even go for the silverware, it is possible going by our strong start to the season and the quality of players we have here,” he concluded.

Once the attacker is cleared, he is expected to compete with the experienced and high-flying Awita Batts for the first-team duties.

Kamau joined the Gikuu-based club in 2017 while the club was plying trade in FKF Division Two Eastern Zone and has played for the team since then.

He made his bow in the Premier League in September in a 1-0 defeat to league veterans FC Talanta.
