EXCLUSIVE: Robert Orangi sacked as MCF FC Coach

National Super League (NSL) side Mully Children Family FC have fired head coach Robert Arasa Orangi six months after his reappointment, Mozzart Sport can firmly reveal.

Orangi made a return to the Yatta-based club at the start of the 2023-2024 NSL campaign from fourth-tier club Kangemi All Stars and was tasked with revamping a team that had lost almost fifteen of its first team players the previous window.

Tasked to lead the club in the second tier on his first assignment, Arasa, on his return, failed to inspire his team to match the demands of the league, with his predicament capped with five losses, four draws and a single win from their opening 10 matches.

"It is with mutual agreement that we have decided to part ways with our head coach, Orangi,” confined a source to Mozzart Sport.

“The club deeply value and appreciate the significant contributions and unwavering dedication he has exhibited throughout his tenure with the organization and extend heartfelt best wishes in future endeavors," added the source.

Orangi who had earlier expressed a desire to change the club’s fortunes around, when contacted said, “I have decided to step aside because things are not working, there is a lot that is going on behind the scenes but I will respect the club and wish them the best this season.”

Consequently, the club has started vetting applicants for the vacant post as they aim to introduce a new gaffer as soon as possible to aid a smooth transition at the team.

We have since established that the newly appointed Mara Sugar head coach Vincent Nyaberi is in line to take over at the club after holding talks with the club hierarchy on Tuesday morning, however, the details of the meeting are yet to be clear.
