The former Sofapaka skipper emerged victorious in a competitive field that included November winner Paul Odhiambo, Samuel Semo of AFC Leopards, Bixente Otieno of Posta Rangers, Nairobi United’s winger Ovella Ochieng, and Jimmy Owidi of Mara Sugar FC.
His performances throughout the month, however, proved decisive and earned him the prestigious accolade.
December was a month to remember for Waithira as he netted four goals, demonstrating his knack for turning matches in Murang’a Seal’s favour.
He scored a crucial equaliser in the 1-1 draw against Nairobi United, before leading his side to a stunning 1-0 victory over defending champions Kenya Police, a result that shocked the league.
The former Wazito FC dangerman capped the month in style by registering a brace and an assist in the emphatic 3-1 triumph over Mara Sugar FC at Awendo Green Stadium, further cementing his influence on the pitch.
Waithira’s scoring exploits continued into January, with a goal against Gor Mahia, taking his tally to eight for the season, leaving him just one behind Paul Odhiambo in the race for the league’s Golden Boot.
His consistent contributions helped Murang’a Seal collect seven points from a possible nine in December, stretching coach Osborne Monday’s side's unbeaten run to nine matches as the year closed.

In recognition of his performances, Waithira received a personalised trophy alongside a cash prize of Ksh50,000.
Speaking after receiving the award, Waithira credited his teammates and fans for their unwavering support, whilst disclosing that prayers have been the key to his success.
He equally dedicated the award to Mzee Wa Kiangage, the club’s longest-serving fan who passed away in August 2025, explaining that his jersey number 71 honours the late supporter’s age.
"I have been very prayerful in what I do, and when on the pitch, I give everything I have. That dedication has made the difference," Waithira said.
"This award is for Mzee Wa Kiangage, whose loyalty to the club was unmatched. I hope he is proud, even in death," added the former Bandari FC talisman.
With his December form, Waithira has not only solidified his place as one of FKFPL’s standout performers but also positioned Murang’a Seal as a team to watch in the title race as they sit just nine points adrift of leaders Gor Mahia signaling a season of fortune.
