The Dockers wasted little time asserting their authority in the Coast derby, striking early through Amza Moubarack in the seventh minute to seize control of the match.
Moubarack capitalised on a defensive lapse to calmly slot past the Bumbani goalkeeper, setting the tone for what would become a dominant first-half display from coach Benard Mwalala’s side.
Bandari continued to dictate the tempo, moving the ball with purpose and repeatedly probing the visitors’ backline.
Their persistence paid off deep into first-half stoppage time when schoolboy sensation Erisat Orute doubled the advantage in the second minute of added time, finishing off a well-worked attacking move to send the Dockers into the break with a comfortable cushion.
Bumbani attempted to claw their way back into the contest after the restart and were handed a lifeline in the 71st minute when Bandari inadvertently turned the ball into their own net.
The goal briefly ignited hope among the visitors, but the Dockers held their nerve in the closing stages to see out the victory and secure their place in the next round.
The win places Mwalala in a promising position to guide Bandari toward another cup triumph, having previously lifted the trophy with the club in 2019.
3K FC 4-0 Denmak
Elsewhere at Moi Stadium, Embu, 3K FC produced another emphatic performance to dispatch Denmak FC 4-0 and continue their remarkable scoring run in the competition.
Nicodemus Omasete’s side has been ruthless in front of goal, and the latest victory means they have now scored an astonishing 11 goals in just two cup matches after thrashing Limuru 7-0 in the opening round.

Mark Kithome led the charge with a brace, while Afande Kendrick and Alex Keke also found the back of the net in a one-sided contest that underlined 3K’s growing reputation as one of the tournament’s dark horses.
The Embu clash attracted dignitaries from Mozzart Bet Kenya Limited, the official sponsors of the competition, who attended the match alongside several influencers to cheer on the teams.

The colourful occasion, however, was somewhat overshadowed by persistent rains that have continued to batter several parts of the country, turning the pitch soggy and testing the players’ resolve.
