First half goals from defensive minded players were enough to guarantee the Dockers passage to the next round
Bandari required just two shots on target to see off National Super League (NSL)side 3K FC, securing a 2-0 victory on Sunday at Wang’uru Stadium to book their place in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Mozzart Bet Cup.
Fully aware that any slip-up would result in an early exit, Bandari leaned on their experience from the onset, taking control of the contest and establishing a comfortable advantage by the time referee Badir Yasin signaled for halftime.

Despite a spirited display from 3K FC after the break, Bandari remained composed under pressure, managing the game with maturity and discipline.
The gulf in class ultimately proved decisive, particularly in how the top-flight side navigated key moments to preserve their lead and secure progression.
However, 3K FC did enough to underline the narrowing gap between sides in the FKF Premier League and the National Super League.
Their ability to match Bandari for long spells, particularly in the second half, demonstrated growing competitiveness and suggested that the difference in quality between the two tiers is no longer as pronounced as it once was.
First half
The inability to deal with crosses decisively was there for all to see, as the hosts conceded two goals literally out of nothing.
Signs of the host leaking goals or losing the early dominance began to show as soon as the levels, between the two sides, began to separate by the 15th minute.
Although 3K had a decent share of possession-and appeared to be head and shoulders above in the midfield battle-their execution in the final third was nothing, but wanting .
All Allaine Ngeleka had to do-after working hard to organize his defence to successfully thwart the early threat-was to command his area, take goal kicks and claim crosses whipped in by the wide men.
Bandari took the lead in the 24th minute through Clifford Otieno, who headed in a ball whipped in the area by Said Tsuma.
In what was the first attempt on goal by the visitors, Otieno ran behind his marker to connect with the ball, which the goalkeeper Issa Satieli would have claimed with ease.
The loud cheers at Wang'uru momentarily fell silent as the former Nairobi City Stars man wheeled to the corner to celebrate the opener.
However, the home fans were not to be dampened by the goal, rising to their feet to back the men in red and yellow, carrying their hopes on the field.
Equally, 3K players did not not give up after the conceding, as they forced the Bandari defence to work twice as hard.
Bandari would double their advantage in the 34 minute through the Joseph Otieno, who headed in a cross from William Wadri.
Otieno, who had made an electric run on the right wing, out-jumped in the his marker to make a feeble connection with the ball but was good enough to beat Satieli.
There was improved show by the home side but lack of ideas in the final third worked against their plan to level up of halving the deficit at the very least.
Second half
The closest 3K came to breaking the deadlock was in the 53rd minute when Kendrick Kipkirui volleyed a long ball into the Bandari area, but Ngeleka back pedalled to punch for a corner.
The resultant corner was well executed, with Daniel Wanjala narrowly missing the target.
The introduction of fresh legs revamped the 3K attack with Daniel Kuria squandering a clear chance in the 57th minute from a superb delivery from the left.
Two minutes later, Samuel Wahinya twisted and turned in the box only to shoot directly into the waiting hands of Ngeleka.
The two chances in quick succession, forced movements on the Bandari bench, which coach Benard Mwalala is instructing five players to proceed to the warm up zone .
3K continued with their ascendancy and would threaten again in the 67th minute but Michael Amwayi was not clinical enough, sending the ball wide from close range.
Things calmed at the Bandari area following the introduction of skipper Andrew Juma in the 71st minute for the injured Otieno.
Initially, Mwalala had planned to to throw in Cameroonian midfielder Bertrand Konfor for Otieno , but after consultation with his assistants, he opted to bring in Juma, a central defender .
The change would stabilize the backline as Shariff Majabe, who was Brian Odera's partner at the heart of it, moved to midfield, allowing the two giant centre backs to deal with the aerial threat with ease.
With the backline and defensive midfield reinforced, Bandari easily and saw, the remaining minutes in the clock, out to progress to the last eight.
