In a major technical and structural revamp aimed at bolstering their promotion push, National Super League (NSL) outfit Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA FC) have confirmed the appointment of Atulo Nicholas as their new team manager.

Atulo, formerly of the now-defunct Rainbow FC, joins the ambitious Oyugis-based side as part of a raft of changes implemented by the club’s hierarchy under newly-appointed head coach Charles Bruno.

The appointment is a strategic move as MOFA intensifies preparations for the 2025/26 campaign as it aims its sights on a third consecutive attempt to earn promotion to the FKF Premier League.

"Welcome to MOFA FC, Atulo Nicholas. We are pleased to announce his appointment as team manager, joining our Technical and Football Operations Department," read a statement from the club’s official Facebook page.

Atulo brings a wealth of experience, having guided Rainbow FC through two promotions in three years during his tenure.

He holds a Bachelor's in Mass Communication and Media Studies from Daystar University and is currently pursuing a master’s in Project Management and Sociology at Houston Christian University.

In addition to his role as team manager, Atulo will also oversee the club’s broader football operations and technical affairs, further underlining the club’s commitment to a professional setup.

"Atulo’s professionalism, attention to detail, and deep understanding of team dynamics make him a strong addition to our backroom staff as we work towards our goals on the FKFPL," the club noted.

The managerial appointment is just one element of a wider restructuring effort being championed by the club.

Last week, MOFA unveiled Bruno as head coach, with Kisumu All Stars’ Dick Orongo joining as strength and conditioning coach.

The club also brought on board renowned sports journalist Boniface Osano to lead its communications and marketing department.

On the pitch, MOFA has strengthened significantly, unveiling ten new signings to boost squad depth and quality.

The club is backed by Harambee Stars captain and Qatar-based striker Michael Olunga.
