Mieno confident of sealing deal before league start

Immediate former Tusker captain Humphrey Mieno is optimistic of getting a new club before the 2023-2024 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season kicks off.
Mieno is currently a free agent having left Tusker last month following the expiry of his contract.
Tusker were expected to offer the midfielder a new deal given his experience, consistency, leadership skills and the years he had spent at the club but instead, the management opted to let him go.
Other players who have left Tusker include; Jackson Macharia who enjoyed double glory with the club in 2016.
Shami Mwinyi, South Sudanese forward David Majak, right back Kevin Monyi, goalkeeper Michael Wanjala and Tanzanian defender Kalos Kirenge.
Mieno expressed hope in landing a new home before the new season starts on October 26.
The 2009 league champions Sofapaka are reportedly seeking to reunite with Mieno who featured for the club in 2011 before leaving for Club Africain Tunis.
“I do not have offers at the moment although I am relaxed. I am confident of getting a deal soon,” offered the experienced midfielder.
Mieno, a league winner with Tusker and Gor revealed that he had been training on his own from the time he left the brewers camp.
“I am training on my own,” he briefly responded.
Apart from Tusker and Sofapaka, Mieno has also played for KCB, Mahakama, AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia.
He served Tanzanian Premier League side Azam between December 2012 and January 2014. He joined Ethiopian giants St. Georges in 2019 after leaving Gor.
