According to an announcement from the club, the Harambee Stars midfielder/defender has fully recovered from a right distal biceps femoris tendon partial tear, an injury that sidelined him for the better part of the season’s opening phase.

The Naibois signaled their ambitions early when they secured Okwaro’s signature from KCB FC on the final day of August.

The deal was completed just hours before the CAF Confederation Cup squad submission deadline, with the midfielder undergoing medicals, signing his contract, and being officially registered for both domestic competitions and the CAF Confederation Cup playoffs.

However, fans have endured a long wait for his debut thanks to persistent knee issues, which worsened during national team duties.

A product of St Anthony’s Boys Kitale, Okwaro was one of Harambee Stars' standout performs during the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where coach Benni McCarthy deployed him effectively in both central defense and defensive midfield.

The highly-rated player, formerly with the now-defunct Rainbow FC, Compel FC and previously on trial in France and Sweden, arrived at Nairobi United amid interest from clubs across Africa and Europe.

His return is expected to provide a significant boost to head coach Nicolas Muyoti, whose side has suffered four consecutive defeats to Wydad Athletic Club, AS Maniema, Mathare United, and Posta Rangers.

Okwaro’s availability could be crucial as United prepare for their January two-legged CAF Confederation Cup assignment against Azam FC.

United currently sit 13th in the FKF Premier League table with a record of 4 wins, 0 draws, and 4 losses from eight matches.
