Harambee Stars striker Jonah Ayunga believes St Mirren still have enough time- and quality-to turn their 2025-2026 season around.
Ayunga and Mirren have had to grapple with a difficult start in the campaign, with their poor run putting their top flight status at risk.

St Mirren have endured a mixed run, with their hopes of securing a fourth consecutive top-six finish fading early.
On the brighter side, they have secured a spot in the Premier Sports Cup final, offering some much-needed relieve.
Goals from Conor McMenamin and Keanu Baccus handed St Mirren a 2-0 victory over Dundee United last weekend, their first league win in nine attempts.
Stephen Robinson’s side had not tasted a Premiership victory since late September, but the result now sets them up positively for next weekend’s final against Celtic.
Dundee United, meanwhile, remain winless in the league since beating St Mirren in October, coming closest in this one when Zac Sapsford and Craig Sibbald both struck the woodwork.
St Mirren went into the weekend sitting second-bottom, prompting manager Robinson to admit they are in a relegation fight.
But Ayunga insists the squad has enough resilience to pull themselves out.
Ayunga was on target in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, a result he believes has reignited their hunger.
“We are down there and it is still early days in the league,” Ayunga told the Daily Record.
“We know if we can stick a few results together, we can climb the table again, that is our aim. This is a positive result and if we can build on it, we’ll start moving upwards.”
At the start of the season, the former Morecambe forward declared that St Mirren would push for European football, a dream he insists is still within reach.
“Our performances have all been good up to this point apart from at Dundee,” he said.
“We have genuinely been in every game; results just haven’t gone our way. The positivity has not gone anywhere. We have watched the clips and the analysis, it is not as if we are scratching our heads wondering how to improve. We know what to do, and it will happen.”
Ayunga has scored two goals in 15 appearances this season, including eight starts, and believes his recent strike has eased some pressure.
“Only my second goal, it came at last,” he joked. “I was happy with the finish.
I feel like I have been getting chances and all you can do is hit the target. We have been practicing, and today we bailed out the boys by scoring. It was about time.”
