Naivas head coach Collins ‘Korea’ Omondi has poured his frustrations following their 1-1 draw against Vihiga Bullets to center referee Alex Kenyani.
Korea accused the whistler of open bias, and lack of professionalism in the game staged at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
Naivas hosted Bullets looking to halt their four-game winless streak that knocked the team out of the automatic promotion bracket.
Speaking after the final whistle, Korea took the blame to Kenyani’s door for his calls and the open bias he had towards Bullets.
The former Kariobangi Sharks assistant coach raised five incidents in which he felt Kenyani made the wrong call, influencing the game in favour of Bullets in the process.
The tactician said a foul would have been awarded in favour of Naivas in the build-up to the Bullets’ goal that earned the former top-flight side a point.
Korea accused Kenyani of denying his side a stonewall penalty as his attacker was tripped by the last man in the box.
He also pointed a finger at the official for failing to give a penalty after striker Eliud Lokuwam was brought down in the area, and his failure to compensate for the time-wasting antics employed by the visitors.
Further, the former Mathare United gaffer alleged that the referee failed to award his side an indirect freekick after the Bullets goalkeeper gathered a back pass.
“He is not fit enough to officiate in inter-estate football let alone second-tier matches. One could easily tell that his mind was fixed from the onset. He turned a blind eye to clear fouls and had a total disregard for the rules governing the game. I urge the appointing authority and the federation to seriously look into the issue of officiating as it negates the hard work teams put in training,” fumed Korea.
Meanwhile, Naivas will lodge a complaint with FKF over Kenyani’s show in the game.
