The tournament's dark horses, Madagascar, who dug deep to eliminate co-hosts Kenya, backed by a vociferous crowd at Kasarani Stadium, will be looking to seal their maiden final in the tourney.
The Falcons of Jediane will also be out to go one better after reaching the semis back in 2011 as hosts and in 2018, losing to Angola and Nigeria, respectively.
As they aim for their first final, Madagascar stand in their way in a semi-final slated for a 5:30 pm (EAT) kick off at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Sudan, on the other hand, have defied all odds to remain unbeaten in the tournament and needed penalties to successfully navigate past Algeria, this despite not having an active domestic league due to the turmoil in their country.
Reigning tournament champions Senegal and joint-record winners Morocco will lock horns in the second semi-final, slated for an 8:30 pm (EAT) kick-off at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.
The winner of both semi-finals will have a shot to clinch the newly designed trophy and $3.5 million (Ksh452 million) at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday, 30 August at 6 PM.
