The dockers are scheduled to play Kakamega Homeboyz this weekend
Bandari head coach Antony Kimani hopes the team’s 5-0 win over Ulinzi Stars on Wednesday will inspire the team to win the subsequent duels.
The dockers were the biggest winners during the midweek fixtures as they made good use of home advantage to humble the visiting soldiers.
Speaking on the win, a delighted Kimani said the victory, which is their highest in the season is a morale booster to the squad especially the forward line that, had been under criticism for the low goal returns.
“It was a major statement from our strikers who have been struggling to score. They have been creating a lot of chances but not scoring and that result against Ulinzi Stars is a big boost for them,” said the former Leopards assistant coach.
He said this time around; his side took their chances and hopes the team can sustain the scoring habit going forward.
“Of course, as a coach, you hope that your players can carry the same motivation into their next matches,” he said.
Turning to Sunday’s Football Kenya Federation Premier League match against Kakamega Homeboyz, Kimani said they expect a tough fixture given the momentum their opponents have built.
“It looks tough on paper considering Homeboyz are equally motivated after eliminating Gor Mahia from the Mozzart Bet Cup and winning their league match after that.
“They are going to be a tough nut to crack but we are equally prepared for them and we should pick something on the road,” he predicted.
The Coastal side moved third on the log after their huge win against Ulinzi Stars which was preceded by a win over Mwatate FC in a Mozzart Bet Cup fixture.
