The midfielder signed a one-year loan extension with AC Oulu.

After signing an initial six-month loan with Finnish side AC Oulu, Kenyan midfielder Magnus Breitenmoser has extended his loan move from the Swiss side FC Thun, inking a new one-year deal.

The new contract will see the 23-year-old feature for Oulu in the 2022 season after escaping relegation from the top tier by a whisker after winning the relegation round playoffs.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Breitenmoser noted that he plans to add goals to his game next season and become a leader on the pitch.

“We have a whole new team, which makes the situation different and we have some players from the previous season. We need to team up and be a team that is extremely important in football,”

“My own goal next season is to become a leader and score goals and create goals,” said Breitenmoser.

Thun released a statement confirming the extension of the loan deal with Oulu but a clause in the contract could see him return to Thun in the summer of 2022.

“Magnus Breitenmoser is staying with the Finnish club AC Oulu for the time being. His loan contract there will be extended until the end of 2022,”

“However, FC Thun Berner Oberland has the option to bring Breitenmoser back early in the summer. We wish Magnus continued success!” read a statement from Thun.

The midfielder who is born to a Kenya mother Hannah Ndungu and a Swiss father joined Oulu back in July and featured 18 times, managing to convenience the club to extend his deal.
