The fleet footed winger has reported Gallants for unlawful dismissal after his contract was terminated in January.

Kenyan international Ovella Ochieng has reported his former club Marumo Gallants to the world football governing body, FIFA for unfair dismissal.

The former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder left Gallants back in January 2022 to join Township Rollers in Botswana after his contract was terminated by the South African outfit.

Ovella failed to make a single appearance for the club during his short stint with the club after signing for them back in August 2021 from Swedish outfit Vasalund.

A source confirmed to South African news outlet Soccer Laduma that Ovella had filed a case at FIFA for his unlawful dismissal at Gallants.

“It is true that Ovella Ochieng has taken his former club to FIFA for unfair dismissal and it is an ongoing matter,” confirmed the source to Soccer Laduma.

If Gallants are found guilty by FIFA they could face a transfer ban for the second time after the embargo was lifted in May 2022 following a dispute with former Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez.

The 22-year-old had signed a one-year deal with Gallants who were under the tutelage of former Harambee Stars head coach Sébastien Migné and had worked with him in the national team setup.

The axing of Migné back in October 2021 for 'insubordination and using abusive language towards the club's Technical Director Harris Choeu further dwindled the hopes of Ovella featuring for Gallants.

Gallants recently completed the signing of another Kenyan Sven Yidah from Nairobi City Stars after training with the club for a number of weeks.
