The Red Devils confirmed the 16-year-old among 15 academy prospects awarded scholarships ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The scholarship marks another milestone for Ziro, who joined United in December 2024 from the West London-based Cre8tive Football Academy after catching the eye with a string of impressive performances.

He is now set to begin life with Manchester United's Under 18 side, where he will continue his development within one of the world's most renowned youth systems.

Born in Kilifi County, Ziro remains eligible to represent Kenya internationally, meaning Harambee Stars could eventually benefit from the emergence of one of England's brightest young prospects.

Should he progress through the academy and make a senior appearance at Old Trafford, Ziro would become the first Kenyan-born player to feature competitively for Manchester United.

The versatile attacker is capable of playing anywhere across the front line but is most comfortable on the left wing, where he uses his stronger right foot to cut inside and create scoring opportunities.

His ability with both feet also allows him to operate on the right flank or as an attacking midfielder behind the striker.

Manchester United coaches have been impressed by his technical ability, close control and confidence in one-on-one situations.

His pace, dribbling and intelligent movement have made him one of the standout performers in his age group since arriving at Carrington.

Although still in the early stages of his development, Ziro is regarded as a player with significant potential.

Having joined directly from grassroots football rather than another professional academy, the scholarship represents a reward for his rapid progress over the past 18 months.

He will now follow the pathway taken by several recent Manchester United academy graduates as he looks to impress at the Under-18 level and push for promotion to the Under-21 side.

Ziro's rise is another encouraging story for Kenyan football, which has seen more young players secure opportunities abroad in recent years.

His progress will be closely monitored by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and Harambee Stars supporters, who will hope he eventually commits his international future to Kenya.

While a senior Manchester United debut remains some way off, the scholarship is a significant step in the teenager's journey.

Consistent performances in the academy could accelerate his rise through the ranks and bring him closer to achieving the dream of playing in the Premier League.
