Kenya U20 women name FIFA U20 World Cup qualifier final squad

Kenya U20 head coach Jackline Juma has named her final Rising Starlets squad for the upcoming two-legged clash against Tanzania in the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The squad blends experience with youthful energy and includes 12 players who previously represented Kenya at the U17 Women’s FIFA World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

The players are Christine Adhiambo, Ephy Awuor, Elizabeth Ochaka, Lorine Ilavonga, Jenevive Mithel, Diana Anyango, Halima Imbachi, Rebecca Odato, Susan Akoth, Pearl Olesi, Lornah Faith, and Valerie Nekesa.

Their inclusion adds valuable international exposure to the team as Kenya prepares for a crucial test.

At the same time, coach Juma has introduced fresh faces to strengthen competition and build depth for the future.

Among the notable returnees is Jenevive Mithel, who rejoins the national team setup after featuring at the U17 level. Her experience is expected to boost the team’s defensive stability.

The squad also welcomes Hilder Natecho and Pauline Nalima, who have earned their first-ever call-ups following impressive performances in camp. Both youngsters are set to make their international debuts at the U-20 level.

The Rising Starlets will host Tanzania in the first leg on Saturday, 7 February, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex before travelling to Dar es Salaam for the return fixture on Saturday, 14 February, at the Azam Complex.

Kenya will be keen to secure a strong home result before the return leg as they continue their push for qualification to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
