Kenya U20 midfielders Irad Mshindi and Stanley Wilson faced off on Tuesday afternoon in a pre-season friendly in Spain, where their respective clubs are currently holding training camps.

The match, which kicked off at 5:00 PM EAT, saw Mshindi’s FK Liepāja secure a 3-1 victory over Wilson’s AIK. Both players started the game, with Wilson featuring for 45 minutes before being substituted at halftime as part of planned squad rotations.
Mshindi, who is highly rated at his new club, featured for the entire match and played a key role in guiding his side to victory.
Liepāja took the lead in the 13th minute through Amar Haidara before Kevin Filling equalised for AIK in the 39th minute. Danila Patijcuks restored Liepāja’s advantage just before the break, giving the Latvian side a 2-1 lead at halftime.
In the 87th minute, Vjačeslavs Isajevs sealed the win with a third goal, putting the game beyond AIK’s reach.
In a post-match statement, AIK said the friendly had been valuable in preparing the squad for the upcoming season.
“Many players gained important match minutes and had the opportunity to put into practice what they have been working on in training.
Two more friendly matches await as we move from Benidorm to Estepona to continue our pre-season preparations,” the club said.
