The highly rated youngster has been missing from the Kariobangi Sharks squad that is yet to win any of their three FKF Premier League matches this season.
With many stakeholders inquiring about his whereabouts this season, Oster announced the presence of the teenager in their team.
“The 17-year-old midfielder Aroko Humphrey Omondi from Kenya has today joined the East for a two-week trial,” read an Instagram post by the club.
Oster sporting director Ola Larsson revealed the trials itinerary for the 18-year-old while also taking time to describe his admirable qualities.
“He will start in the U19, where he does his first training already on Monday, 29 September, and then he will train with the A-team next week.
He is a central player with exciting offensive qualities, and I look forward to seeing him in our business for the next two weeks,” said Larsson.
Oster, who currently compete in the Allsvenskan (Swedish top-tier), is located in Växjö and was founded in 1935.
The club hosts their matches at the 12,000-seater Visma Arena and has, among other honours, four Swedish league titles.
However, the club’s fortunes had dwindled in the recent past, which saw them out of the top tier from 2013 until their return in 2025 after finishing second in the second tier in 2024.
The club is currently 14th in the 16-team league table, occupying the relegation/promotion playoff position as they continue with their fight against the drop.
Oster will host 12th-placed Halmstad in their next league match set for Saturday, 4 October, in their quest to remain in the top division.
Aroko has been a revelation since breaking into the limelight, from his time at Highway Secondary School, where he started featuring for Kariobangi Sharks.
He was also part of the historic Kenya U20 team that qualified and competed in the 2024 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) that was held in Egypt.
This is the second time that Aroko is in Sweden for trials after undergoing the same exercise with another top-tier side, AIK, in January.
After being unsuccessful with AIK, the Kariobangi Sharks midfielder will be hoping that lady luck strikes this time around.
