The club is banking on these changes to improve performance, recover form, and mount a serious challenge for the league title once again.
FKF Premier League champions Kenya Police FC are set to release all the foreign players they signed during the off-season transfer window, with the clear-out expected to be completed this week.
After clinching last season’s league title, the club went all out to strengthen their squad with five foreign players and a host of local signings.
The club shopped heavily in a bid to flourish in the CAF Champions League.
However, their continental ambitions were cut short when they were eliminated in the final qualification round by Sudanese side Al Hilal Omdurman.
The team has also struggled for consistency domestically.
Kenya Police currently sit sixth on the FKF Premier League table with 23 points from 14 matches, seven points behind leaders AFC Leopards, although they have two games in hand.
The club has won only one of their last six league matches, placing additional pressure on coach Dusan Stojanovic and the squad to turn their form around.
In response, the club has opted for a major overhaul and decided to part ways with all foreign players signed before the season.
Those affected include Senegalese goalkeeper Khadime Ndiaye, who featured in the CAF Champions League but never made a league appearance, and the Congolese trio Mosengo Tansele, Exauce Misuri and Gedeon Muyadi.
Mosengo in particular showed glimpses of quality, but all three will now seek new clubs for the second leg of the season.
Nigerian striker Samuel Ayanrinde also departs. The lanky forward went from being a starter to a fringe player after missing key chances in a 2-0 loss to Gor Mahia in November.
Since that match, he has spent most of his time away from the squad and in the stands during league games.
Other departures include defender Stephen Okola, who requested contract termination, and Samuel Kenneth Nyamweya, who leaves without making a single appearance for the club.
To strengthen the squad, Kenya Police have already made several new signings. Congolese winger and left-back Hernest Briyock Malonga, Burkina Faso striker Yves Koutiama, who represented his country in last year's CHAN, Congolese defender Jacques Bowamba, and Zanzibari midfielder Awesu Ally Awesu from Simba SC, who joins on loan for the rest of the season.
The club is banking on these changes to improve performance, recover form, and mount a serious challenge for the league title once again.
