
Kenya girls to face Uganda in CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Qualifier final

Kenya beat Burundi 2-0 on Tuesday morning to confirm their place in the final
The Kenya U15 girls’ team will face Uganda in the CAF African Schools Football Championship CECAFA Qualifier final set for Wednesday at Kasarani Stadium.
The Kenyan girls will play in the final after securing three wins in the four-group stage matches they have played in the two days.
Kenya beat Burundi 2-0 on Tuesday morning to confirm their place in the final.
A goal from Linda Atieno and an own goal by a Burundian player saw Kenya claim a win in the penultimate group stage match as well as confirmed their place in the final.
The home girls however lost the last game of the day, going down fighting 1-0 to Uganda.
The team has a chance to revenge the loss to Uganda on Wednesday when the two teams jostle for top honours in the final.
Last week, Uganda beat Kenya 2-1 in the CECAFA U18 Boys tournament final held in Kisumu.
Meanwhile, the Kenya U15 Boys started with a promising 2-0 victory against Rwanda but faced a setback with a 2-1 loss to Uganda later on.
In other matches, Uganda beat Tanzania 1-0 while Somalia drew both their matches against Burundi and Rwanda.
The Kenyan team will play their last group stage match tomorrow against Burundi at Kasarani Annex starting at 9 am.
Leonard Odipo’s charges will however not feature in the final having lost two group-stage matches.
Kenya lost 1-0 to Tanzania on Monday before recovering and humbling Somalia 2-0 in the subsequent match.
